Abstract: Forest roads are recognized as one of the primary sources of sediment in many forested watersheds. Research on soil erosion processes on forest roads has been carried out by the authors for over 10 years. This overview of that research summarizes the results of numerous past and ongoing field and computer modeling studies related to road erosion processes and the impacts of road design on road erosion.
