For site management, information is collected as the standard logging done by the server software. These records are used to create summary statistics for such analysis as assessing which pages are of most and least interest, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

We also check the logs regularly for suspicious activity on the server.

We keep no other information on the visitors to this site except for the names and addresses optionally supplied by users for software downloads -- that information we keep on file so that we can let users know of software updates -- and usage log files from online runs of our FS WEPP software. The FS WEPP log files record the user's machine (IP) address, climate station name, number of years simulated, and run time and date.

This information service operates on a U.S. Government computer system. This system may be monitored for such purposes as to ensure proper operation, and to verify the functioning of applicable security features. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, system personnel may provide the evidence of such monitoring to law enforcement officials.
