  1. Five plots were set-up: four 0.8 ha core LTSP (Long-Term Soil Productivity) treatment plots and one 0.8 ha uncut plot in an adjacent stand (see diagram below).

  2. Twenty-five stakes of each tree species were installed in each subplot

  3. Sampling of soil moisture, temperature, CO2, O2, and bulk density, were recorded at 10, 20, and 30cm soil depths.
