Landscape Characteristics:

Glacial lake plain resulting from sedimentation on the floor of glacial Lake Souris. Some glacial potholes also occur. Elevations range from 1000 to 1500 feet. Drainage density is low.

Climate:

Mean annual precipitation ranges from 15 to 18 inches, about 30 percent falling as snow. The soil temperature and moisture regimes are frigid and udic.
