Landscape Characteristics:

Outwash plains and fans that formed in aeolian sands, river sediments, and glacial outwash. Elevations range from 1000 to 1500 feet. Drainage density is low. Glacial potholes also occur.

Climate:

Mean annual precipitation ranges from 15 to 18 inches, about 40 percent falling as snow. The soil temperature and moisture regimes are frigid and udic.
