Hummocky hills and plains that formed in glacial till. Elevations range from 2000 to 3000 feet. Drainage density is moderate. Glacial potholes also occur.

Climate:

Mean annual precipitation ranges from 15 to 19 inches, about 50 percent falling as snow. The soil temperature and moisture regimes are frigid and udic.
